I struggled this Christmas with the age-old delima of "what do I get mom?" Every time I asked, I got "I have everything I need. Don't get me anything." Well, mother... that's not how Christmas works!

To break from the monotony of buying something fresh from the store - I decided to make something. What mother doesn't enjoy get an art project from her son for Christmas? Who cares if said son is twenty-four years old... deep down inside I'm the creative type. I like drawing, painting, designing... I like going nuts on a blank canvas every now and then.

I got this idea after seeing my super creative friend Jennifer's Crayon Monogram project. Then I saw @carlynmarae's photo on instagram. With a little coaching from both Jennifer @btflwhatshedoes on twitter and @carlynmarae on instagram, this is what transpired:
